My computer (containing 120GB Seagate hard drive) recent have problems: boot always show “Primary master hard disk fail”, and prompts press F1 key, but after pressing the F1 key, “Disk Boot Fail … … “error message appeared on the screen, always unable to enter Windows. Why and how to solve it?
A: This situation generally has two causes:
1, the hard disk master boot record is damaged;
2, hard disk boot partition boot sector is damaged. Specific solutions are as follows: first set the fault hard disk jumper to other, and attached to another computer to see if it read and write normal, if read and write properly that means the partition table itself is still good, you can use the FDISK command with parameters to repair it (common parameter / MBR, / PRI and / EXT, said they were rewriting the master boot record, rewrite the basic DOS partition boot record and rewrite the DOS extended partition boot record). Also, if the partition table is damaged, you can use Norton Disk Repair Tool to restore or re-partition with FDISK.Hard drive failure
