The first step to reformat hard drive: use the CD-ROM to start the computer:
CD-ROM starting means that when the computer starts read the CD-ROM first. Method:
1. Start your computer and press the DEL key until the IOS settings (usually a blue background, yellow text) window appears.
2. Select and enter the second option “BIOS SETUP” (BIOS settings). Find item or group that contains BOOT inside the text, and find sequential “FIRST” “SECEND” “THIRD”, respectively, represents “the first started” “second launch” and “the third start.” Here, we set it to “CD-ROM” “floppy” “hard disk”. (As in this page do not see these three, usually the right BOOT options menu for the “SETUP”, then press Enter to enter and you can see it)
3. After set three kinds start ways, press the F10 key, a dialog box appears, press “Y” key and hit enter, the computer automatically restart and the settings came into effect.
The second step, reformat hard disk with CD-ROMPrior to restart, insert Windows XP installation CD-ROM, when you see the screen appearing on CD-ROM, press Enter. After a while, the installation interface of the XP system disk CD-ROM appears which has a blue background, then the system will automatically analyze the computer information, perform no action, until it displays a screen, black look, followed by a blue interface.
Then there is the XP system, the agreement, press F8 key (means consent to this Agreement), then we can see the list of the hard disk partition information, and instructions. Select C drive, press D key to delete the partition (remember that make a backup of useful documents on C drive), C drive location into a “no partition”, and then in the original C drive location (i.e., “non-partitioned” position ) Press C key to create the partition, the partition size without adjustment. After the original C drive location into a “new unused” character, press Enter key to continue.
Then appears the formatted partition options page, it is recommend that select “Format the partition using FAT32 (quick).” Press Enter key to continue, the system begin to format C drive. After formatting, the system will analyze the hard disk and former WINDOWS operating system, the same fast speed, followed by copying files, approximately ranging from 8-13 minutes (depending on machine configurations).
When all files transferred, the system will automatically re-start, then you will see the CD-ROM ….. again, without pressing any key, let the system boot from the hard drive, as part of the installation files have been copied to the hard disk (Note: At this point you should not remove the CD-ROM). When the computer has a blue background color installation interface, the system has started to install WINDOWS XP.
