How to set up RAID drives and enhance hard disk performance
Posted in Hard Drive Upgrade by manyuThe computer hard drives have become a short-board, then the hard drive performance is really not be able to enhance through other means? The answer is no, in fact, short-board hard disk RAID technology can be compensated for before the RAID technology has been used in high-performance servers, etc. However, as the popularity of an integrated RAID controller board, this technology can be used in our daily life . Now, I teach everybody how to set up RAID drives to enhance hard disk performance.
First, enter the BIOS system, the Main menu, select Storage Configuration, and enter into the following diagram option.

Set The Configure SATA as into the RAID mode, Controller Mode to RAID, Then in the Advanced menu, select Onboard Devices Configuration option and set Controller Mode to RAID mode, debugging finished.

set up hard drive to RAID mode. The figure is the RAID menu, when into this interface, users need to select Ctrl + I to enter RAID configuration mode.
Set interface, press “1″ key is to create a RAID disk, press “2″ key to delete the RAID disk, press “3″ key is the reset does not require the formation of the disk, press “4″ key is to withdraw.

The figure above shows the basic information set up RAID, where the first option for the RAID disk name, you can usually selected by default. In the second option, press left select RAID 0; third option by a space, select your need to create RAID 0 hard drive, where the author only two hard drives, so options are not activated, but if you have three blocks or more hard drive space key to select through the formation of RAID disk. Finally, enter Create Volume option, and press “Y” button to save. At this point, you have two hard drives set up as RAID 0, press Esc exit, restart.
After set up RAID drives, you can install the Windows 7 operating system, and by the author tests, set up RAID 0 array, the hard disk performance can increase about 40%, the effect is very obvious.
