Following the world’s first SATA 6Gbps interface, solid-state hard drive RealSSD C300, Micron today issued the first enterprise-class solid state hard drive products RealSSD P300 which used SATA 6Gbps interface, through the use of high-speed SLC particles, the performance scaled new heights, it’s the world’s strongest SATA interface SSD in 2010.
RealSSD P300 based on 2.5-inch specifications, SATA 6Gbps interface, but the MLC flash memory replaced by 34nm process ONFI 2.1 SLC Flash particle.
First, the continuous read rate is 360MB/s, write speed is 275MB/s. More importantly is randomread and write performance. Micron officials measured data is, RealSSD P300 peak IOPS performance for 60000IOPS reading, 45200IOPS write; stable compared to 44000IOPS read IOPS performance,16000IOPS write. This results even higher than the random read and write performance of RAID array used dozen 15,000 SAS hard drive to built.
Throughout the life cycle of RealSSD P300, it can be written 3.5PB data, equivalent to a daily written 1.9TB, used continuously for 5 years. While the power consumption only 2.1W, operating temperature is 0 to 70 degrees, weight 75 grams, can affordable 1500G/1ms impact or frequency 1500G/1ms 2Hz to 500Hz, 3.1G vibration.
Micron said, RealSSD P300 offers 50GB, 100GB and 200GB capacity, today began providing samples to customers, and produce in a large scale in October.
